HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Guy Combeau and his wife Blanca started to produce expulsion fuse links at the end of 1960s. It was a big challenge at that time and the beginning was very difficult because of lack of appropriate infrastructure (the first fuse links, of H and K type, were produced in the flat of the Combeau), and of established markets. Nevertheless, the orientation was clear since then: knowledge, hard work and perseverance made it possible to realize a dream that few believed would come true. As time was passing, the situation was getting better. In 1984 a new firm was created: Eléctricos Internacional Ltda. - trade name that we are using till today. In 1985 we moved to our new, modern plant. In 1989, after five years of intense research, Dual type fuse link was developed - very few producers in the whole world have this product in their offer.

Since our very beginnings, it was the company's policy to assure the products' high quality because the correct functioning of a fuse link is vital for the protection of an electric system. Our quality control is strict and permanent; within this process we carry on the following tests: current versus time fusion, temperature rise, mechanical traction. Thanks to this quality-oriented policy, we managed to obtain, in January 1998, the ISO 9002 standard quality system certificate.

At present, the LUHFSER expulsion fuse links, used mainly for electrical distribution systems that range from 7.000 to 38.000 volts, satisfy almost 100% of the needs of the Colombian market. We also export to certain Latin American countries: Dominican Republic, Honduras, Venezuela and Guatemala. Our company's staff consists of 35 highly qualified employees.
